I spent a lovely afternoon downtown this week learning how to collect and pay sales tax for our business. Can you think of anything more fun than that?
I am so fortunate that Roxanne has wonderfully creative aunts and cousins and sisters. We started planning her wedding reception last night and the ideas were flying! It will be beautiful and I'm excited. Let the money begin to flow!
I found out I'm normal. (Dave is questioning the findings). After three rounds of extensive bloodwork, two ultrasounds, a biopsy, $300 out of our pocket, and lots of worry, the latest lab results for my liver function came back absolutely normal. Strangely, I was a little bit disappointed. After all that effort and worry, I kind of wanted a diagnosis (but the kind of diagnosis that could be easily treated by taking a simple little pill for a week, not the kind you have chemo for).
I am enjoying fresh tomatoes out of our garden this week.
I read some signs recently that kind of bug me. A poorly placed decimal point makes for some very expensive gas.
And what exactly does this one mean?
The brake lights on my van did a weird thing last night. They came on and they stayed on - when the brake pedal was pushed, when the braked pedal was not pushed, when the car was on, when the car was off. When I got home, Dave squirmed upside down under the dashboard, looked around for all of 60 seconds, went and found a magnet, got under the dashboard for 60 seconds more and the brake lights went back to normal. Sometimes I am amazed and impressed at what that man can do (well, always I am amazed and impressed!)
All 4 of our kids have a blog now. Melanie needs to write on hers more often though. I'm keeping up on Brady's missionary blog. I guarantee when he gets home, no one will hear from him again.
Dave is turning 50 this month. I've been looking up quotes to post on the wall for his birthday party. "The years between 50 and 70 are the hardest. You are always being asked to do things, and yet you are not decrepit enough to turn them down."
"Forty is the old age of youth. Fifty is the youth of old age."
Anyone have any good ones?
